Will Window Tint Break My Windows Or Blow The Seals?

A window that is cracked from one side to the other side. This is one of our most asked questions. There are a couple of factors that can cause window or seal breakage. One reason your window might break after window tint is installed is because of imperfections in the window itself. Another reason is because the wrong window tint was installed. Let’s talk about these one at a time.

  1. Imperfections in the window. Sometimes when windows are installed there can be imperfections from the manufacturer that is hard to see unless you’re looking for them. That is why when we measure your windows we also examine the windows thoroughly for any of these imperfections. This is extremely important because then you can call the manufacturer and get the window replaced before we install the window tint. However, this only happens on rare occasions.
  2. The wrong window tint is installed. There are different factors that need to be considered when choosing a window tint to install. Things such as how much heat can be absorbed versus being reflected, the altitude you live at and what direction the windows are facing. All of these thing need to be considered. When deciding on what home window tinting company to go with, it is important that they take all of these factors into consideration.

It’s important to note that industry wide, glass breakage and seal failure by home window tinting occurs in approximately only 1% of all installations.
