UV rays shining through the cloudsDid you know that October is National Home Eye Safety month? Yep that’s right it’s so important that it gets, not just a day but a whole month devoted to it.

One of the very dangerous threats to your eye safety in your home is the UV rays that enter in through your windows. Most people don’t give this much consideration, but if you think about it, with as much UV rays that enter through your windows you should be wearing sunglasses and sunscreen inside.

If you’re like me, I don’t really want to wear sun glass and sun screen inside. So what do you do? The best way to deal with this problem is have professionally installed window film applied to all your windows. Windows with no film can protect your eyes from about 25% of UV rays, that’s not much when you compare it to windows with window film that will protect you from 99% of UV rays.

Window film is a very thin piece of film that is virtually invisible to the human eye, yet cuts down the UV rays as well as the intense glare coming in to your house. To read this article in it’s entirety, please go to the International Window Film Association webpage.
