Q: Can I order patio shades that have a motor?

Yes. All of our solar shades, exterior shades and patio shades come either manual or motorized.

Q: Can I roll my patio shades up or are they stationary?

Yes, you can roll your patio shades all the way up or down, or part of the way up. You have complete control of your patio shades.

Q: Do patio shades add privacy?

Yes, if that is what your goal is. Patio shades with very little openness can be very difficult for your neighbors to see through.

Q: Will I be able to see through the sun solar shade?

That depends on the openness of the shade. The more open the solar shade is the more you will be able to see through it. Please go to our sun solar shade photo gallery page to see the differences of openness.

Q: What do you mean when you refer to the openness of the sun solar shade?

Fabric openness or density affects the amount of UV and glare protection, as well as the clarity of view and the heat rejection.

Q: Do sun solar shades help with energy cost?

Yes, how much it helps depends on the openness of the solar shade. The more openness the solar shade has, the less heat it will reject.

Q: Will Window Film darken the house?

Only if that is your objective. Vista carries a variety of window films depending on your specific needs. We can install a clear film to a dark film that will cut out 70% of light. If UV protection is the only concern, ALL of the window films we carry have 99.9% UV blockage. If heat and glare are issues, we have window tint to addresses these as well. No matter the concern, in most cases we can solve the issue.

Q: Do windows lose their warranty when window film is applied?

Yes and no, let us explain. Window film voids the manufacturer warranty. Many window film companies will install improper film that will damage your windows. Because of this, window film manufacturers have no choice but to void the warranty. However, Vista Window Films will replace the warranty of your windows whether it is a one year or lifetime warranty. This is because they know the right window tint will be installed on the windows.

Q: Would it be of benefit to install window film on Low-E glass?

Low-E windows only block a small percentage of UV and virtually no heat and glare reduction. Low-E windows in Colorado are designed to retain and not to reject heat. In the summer the windows will intensify the heat in the house. Installing window film on Low-E glass is an incredible addition to the window and the properties they already contain. The combination of the two will not only provide over 99.9% UV blockage but an incredible savings in energy cost.
